An enjoyable evening was had by all at our thirteenth annual dinner held at the Roebuck Hotel, Ware, it started with vegetable soap followed by a traditional Christmas dinner of turkey roast potatoes and vegetables with apple pie or fruit salad to finish.
Our Chairman, Ted Savills thanked everyone for making 2009 a successful year for the association with our three shows at Capel Manor, Chiltern Open Air Museum and Colesdale Farm, he also thanked members for their support and help with setting up the arenas and running the association stall.
The president, John Hasting thanked everyone for their support through the year and making it one of the most successful heavy horse associations, he said we are now in our sixteenth year and on our thirteenth annual dinner.
We once again had the pleasure of Mr Gus Kitson for our speaker who told us a number of stories and adventures about his horses, jokes and gave us some songs.
The chairman presented Tony and Brenda Allen with a certificate for life membership to the association for their help and dedication. Tony and Brenda are two of the founder members and Tony being a past Chairman and President.
