PRESIDENT RETIRES

We, all at the Hertfordshire Heavy Horse Association , sadly acknowledge the retirement of Mr Tony Allen as our immediate past president and sincerely thank both him and Brenda for all their unstinting dedicated support

and guidance to the association without which the association

would certainly have struggled at times.

Although we bid farewell to Tony in his official capacity as

president, we hope to continue to see both him and Brenda

enjoying the events and shows organised by the association

without the worries of overseeing them.

We, all the Hertfordshire Heavy Horse Association, warmly

welcome our newly appointed President of the association

Mr John Hastings who officially accepted the position and

introduced himself at our AGM in February. An experienced

horseman, known well to our retiring president Tony Allen,

we thank him for excepting our invitation to become our

president and look forward to his support and involvement

with our association in the years ahead.

The association committee retains the same number of officers but has two changes to the general committee with the resignation of Mr Gary Crisp and voting on Mr Chris Carpenter.

The reason for Gary resigning was increased pressures of both family life and work which left him little time to attend meetings and be so visible at events.

We would like to thank Gary for all his support and advice with particular regard to the Health and Safety aspect of events and shows, a crucial part of any planning for such days. We should also like to congratulate both Gary and Catherine on the birth of their second child and look forward to seeing them all in the near future.

We warmly welcome Chris onto the committee and thank him for his support

We now have a new Health and Safety officer, Mr Ray Perriam has kindly taken on this job, and we look forward to to working with him.

We have changed our venue for our monthly meetings.

Meetings take place every second Wednesday of each month at the Pavillion, Ottway Walk, Old Welwyn and all members are welcome.
