CAPEL MANOR 2009

Countryside Day - Capel Manor Held on on Sunday 7th June 2009

JUDGES : Tony Allen and John Sparks

With heavy rain over night, the day was going to start slowly. Jumbo was in top form with his commentary. The first class in the ring was the in-hand with eight horses with their handlers, the public were starting to come in and the sun was coming out. Heather Keeble stole this class with her Suffolk mare and foal Atlantic Storm. The next was the decorated harness class which was won by David Hardyman with Capel Manor coming second and third. The next class was the single turnout and was won by one of the association's favourite members, Brian Baker, with his Kent wagon and shire Thomas.

Best pair turnout went to our past chairman Paul Walsh with a Smyth Drill and his shires Fred and Archie.

Single working class was won by Greg Bookham and his Belgium mare, Dolly.

Pair turnout went to Ken Allison with his 1886 Sail Mower being pulled by shires Betsy and Bella.

The show special went to Heather Keeble with her ladies cart driven by Becca Putt-Jones.

We had a turnout of seventeen horses :- Shires, Suffolks and Clydesdales

Also our thanks to the Nothwick Park Dog Agility Display Team for a great display.
